After Forever

After forever
when they sing our song
with timeless lyrics about eternal spirits
we will nod and think
they almost got it right.

There’ll be myths that summer solstice
was about the first time our souls kissed
as both the sun and time stood still
on a day that never wanted to end.

After forever
they will see it written in the stars
our own patterns of love, drawn
faithful reminders, from dusk to dawn
each twinkle a footprint where we danced.

Then they’ll say the moon made a vow
that we’ll always know how
to find one another again
with her breath on a breeze
she’d whisper “follow me”
and guide us through eternity.

After forever
when poets look to muses
and immortalize their own great loves
they’ll remember a song
that touched on our love
and think that we had forever
but they would be wrong

‘Forever’ was our prelude
our song has just begun.

~ Manifestation of Love ~

~ Manifestation of Love ~

I used to know a hundred songs
about that place in love where pain belongs
no reconciliation was ever found
between heart and head, only strife came ‘round.

I wandered beneath a lonely moon
the music in my heart, adrift and out of tune
just the haunting strings of the mandolin
seeping through my veins to reside within.

I sought answers to questions I needn’t have asked
I didn’t know at the time, my die had been cast
gliding on moonbeams, soft whispers came through:
“You don’t find love…..love finds you.”

As such, it came unexpected
with an acceptance of Fate, unprecedented
our friendship suddenly became clear to me
to be your anything love, was meant to be.

An anything love, is just as it implies
unbiased and just, no conditions or why’s
to be what you need through life’s various stages
to remain your constant, throughout the ages.

It’s a love through action, as the words are unspoken
no need for return, sentiments can be broken
promises not uttered, for fear of breach
manifested from truth, with intent to reach.

I used to know a hundred songs
with verses tripping over rights and wrongs
it took the moon for me to see
Fate provides the lyrics, we are the melody.

Midnight Moon

Midnight moon, an angel’s platform
serene, she conquers any storm
alluring vision on display
with my reflections to convey

Inviting dreams to come ashore
she beckons hearts – play and explore
silent wisdom, she leads the way
with my reflections to convey

My one request of her to do
is send a dove to follow you
(that peace and time not go astray)
with my reflections to convey

Midnight moon, an angel’s platform
with my reflections to convey.

When you smile

With just one flicker of a smile
you make everything all worthwhile
surrendering the heart you stole
you make me lose all self-control

You are a gemstone in the rough
time with you is never enough
with the tenderness of your soul
you make me lose all self-control

Nothing on earth I wouldn’t do
for the delight of loving you
the pleasing ways we become whole
you make me lose all self-control

With just one flicker of a smile
you make me lose all self-control.

The poem that explains my heart to you

~ The poem that explains my heart to you ~

Five years ago, my path became clear:
to love you, through eternity
Even though unrequited
it’s still a love fulfilled
because I believe
it transcends time
and softly
touches
you.

You
remain
unaware
it comes from me
yet I still write these
words you may never see
so you remain bathed in love
My soul runs parallel to yours
my shadow, your breath, achingly close

chosen by love, my heart belongs to you.

Midnight Dreams

You
live in
my midnight
where stars smile
and love is timeless;
it is where we belong.
Dreams melding beneath the moon
yours and mine, we ache to touch them
fervent hearts reach out across the seas
to recapture that summer we first met.
Stars twinkle in Morse code and Fate answers
lays her onyx cape over the seas
and we dance across the water
back into each other’s arms.
Fate smiles, falling back
in step with the moon
to shelter my
midnight dreams
where you
live.

~ Once upon a moon ~

Once upon a moon, my dreams were cast
mere whispers wafting through silken skies
entrusted to her for safekeeping
waiting on the moment you would arrive.

All that she holds, most sacred and true
dreams born of a yearning to unfold
blessed with moondust and kissed by stars
cradled in her embrace to wait out the years

Once upon a moon, you came to me
all that we had was all that we needed
and love was an earnest innocence
wrapped in crystalline dreams

In between breaths, time ebbs and flows
capturing brilliance while stealing moments
until it manages to fade away
and in its absence melancholy sings

Once upon a moon, I believed a truth
that dreams entrusted to the moon were eternal
spun in wistful drifts and carried on the wind
resolute, even though time is temperamental

That truth beckons, through valleys of change
where we lost what we had but not what we needed
celestial guidance brings me to dawn
where I am reminded that love is perpetual

Once upon a moon, my dreams were cast
on shimmering display through silken skies
entrusted to her for safekeeping
she holds them still for you.
