The poem that explains my heart to you

~ The poem that explains my heart to you ~

Five years ago, my path became clear:
to love you, through eternity
Even though unrequited
it’s still a love fulfilled
because I believe
it transcends time
and softly
touches
you.

You
remain
unaware
it comes from me
yet I still write these
words you may never see
so you remain bathed in love
My soul runs parallel to yours
my shadow, your breath, achingly close

chosen by love, my heart belongs to you.

  2. I know just where this comes from and have a good idea where it is going. I am right there with you. Great poem. You have a heart as big as California.

    1. *Smiles* California is pretty big ;) Even I do not know where this is going, but I do know, it is not going away. Thank you, Myke. You always say the nicest things <3

    1. It's always nice to know what we write makes an impact. Even if the intended person never sees the poetry, they are still put out in the universe. I have to believe that makes a difference somehow.

I only used a few of the challenge words, anything else would have compromised what I needed to say. But I'll be posting this Friday at the next Hebrides Moon challenge. Thank you for your nice comment here, and for your inspirational words :)

  6. Beautiful written. I have written a few that the inspiration for the poem never saw. But it was very cathartic to put it down on paper.

    1. Thank you, Larua :) A lot of times, what we write is meant to be cathartic and not shared. I've done my share of poetry like that. I'm glad the poetry challenges are proving inspirational. ((hugs))
