I love you (implied)

~ I love you (implied) ~

Moonlight dances across a gentle sea
without a sound, her lightness to bestow
for those moments you seek serenity
a constant presence, through each ebb and flow

Like gentle fingertips, whispers of air
in carefree moments, brush along your face
stronger sometimes, when you think no one’s there
pushing you forward, holding you in place

A summertime rain that sets your soul free
breathe in the freshness, forget where you’ve been
I am the moonlight, the wind you don’t see
a warm cleansing rain to soothe you again

Speaking in silence, elements confide
words I cannot say:  I love you (implied).

The Calling

Guided by instinct, bound by love
on the rocks of your shore I wait
and when the lights go down
that’s where I’ll be found
answering the call of Fate

No footprints made, but still you came
my mind’s eye drew your smile
your presence felt in many ways
my mind painted your desire

Hide and seek, imagination dances
will of the heart? Contentment advances

Shadows sigh as dusk unfolds
your whispers travel on a breeze
in the darkness, I feel them pass by
your whispers never meant for me

Silence flies, no backward glances
Light of truth? Preconceived romances

No promises made, but questions linger
I’ll always be in the dark
time changes all, yet nothing changes
I’ll always be tied to you

In Shadows

You give me all you have to give
no greater friendship ever lived
not much in common we don’t share
in shadows, you are always there

That I can always count on you
speaks volumes of a love that’s true
a love that does not hesitate
in shadows, doubt holds no weight

I know your feelings are sincere
but parameters were always clear
with mine, I lost the upper hand
in shadows, I know where I stand

I waver between black and white
seeking greys where desire is right
coveting words you’ll never say
in shadows, my dreams lead the way

I know your love does not match mine
it’s a truth that I can’t reassign
and while you’ll never change your view
in shadows, my heart waits for you.

After Forever

After forever
when they sing our song
with timeless lyrics about eternal spirits
we will nod and think
they almost got it right.

There’ll be myths that summer solstice
was about the first time our souls kissed
as both the sun and time stood still
on a day that never wanted to end.

After forever
they will see it written in the stars
our own patterns of love, drawn
faithful reminders, from dusk to dawn
each twinkle a footprint where we danced.

Then they’ll say the moon made a vow
that we’ll always know how
to find one another again
with her breath on a breeze
she’d whisper “follow me”
and guide us through eternity.

After forever
when poets look to muses
and immortalize their own great loves
they’ll remember a song
that touched on our love
and think that we had forever
but they would be wrong

‘Forever’ was our prelude
our song has just begun.

~ Manifestation of Love ~

~ Manifestation of Love ~

I used to know a hundred songs
about that place in love where pain belongs
no reconciliation was ever found
between heart and head, only strife came ‘round.

I wandered beneath a lonely moon
the music in my heart, adrift and out of tune
just the haunting strings of the mandolin
seeping through my veins to reside within.

I sought answers to questions I needn’t have asked
I didn’t know at the time, my die had been cast
gliding on moonbeams, soft whispers came through:
“You don’t find love…..love finds you.”

As such, it came unexpected
with an acceptance of Fate, unprecedented
our friendship suddenly became clear to me
to be your anything love, was meant to be.

An anything love, is just as it implies
unbiased and just, no conditions or why’s
to be what you need through life’s various stages
to remain your constant, throughout the ages.

It’s a love through action, as the words are unspoken
no need for return, sentiments can be broken
promises not uttered, for fear of breach
manifested from truth, with intent to reach.

I used to know a hundred songs
with verses tripping over rights and wrongs
it took the moon for me to see
Fate provides the lyrics, we are the melody.
