~ I love you (implied) ~
Moonlight dances
across a gentle sea
without a sound, her
lightness to bestow
for those moments you
seek serenity
a constant presence,
through each ebb and flow
Like gentle
fingertips, whispers of air
in carefree moments,
brush along your face
stronger sometimes,
when you think no one’s there
pushing you forward,
holding you in place
A summertime rain that
sets your soul free
breathe in the
freshness, forget where you’ve been
I am the moonlight,
the wind you don’t see
a warm cleansing rain
to soothe you again
Speaking in silence, elements
confide
words I cannot
say: I love you (implied).

Wow - been a while (Herbrides Moon?) - you certainly haven't lost your touch. Smooth and flowing like moonlight on the seas.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tyler :) No, it's not a Hebrides Moon challenge (though I've been thinking about that site a lot lately and that I need to start it up again. Maybe I'll try to come up with something soon for the first of August).
DeleteThis touches me, in a old familiar say. Countless are poems we write around the theme leanings toward resolution and dissolution, but this poem deals with implications... I can't adequately express how much I was caught up in your definitive sonnet.
ReplyDeleteSometimes we write the poem and then the title, and sometimes it's the other way around. When this title first came to me a month or so ago, I loved it so much and worried I wouldn't be able to do it justice. But I couldn't resist writing about implications, it was just the right time. Thank you, Michael <3
DeleteThat last couplet...exquisite...really leaves a mark!! Great song too!! Love this!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is another "wedding" song, it just makes me sigh it's so romantic.
